Long-tail keywords are those keywords that are generally 3 or greater words, for example:
The keyword “internet” – That single word by itself makes it considered to be “short tail”.
However, the keyword “internet business opportunity” is considered long-tail since it is actually 3 words that make up that single keyword phrase.
They are better keywords to target for a few reasons:
1. They are more narrowly focused and higher converting
2. They are usually less competitive to advertise under because there is less competition since it is much more specific keyword.
The only catch is that they generally have less traffic, which is perfectly okay! Because the goal is not to get lots of traffic but lots of conversions with what traffic you have.
